Click on the 'Create new account' link and enter a Username that you will remember and an Email Address that you can be contacted at. If you wish to remain fully anonymous you should consider choosing a Username that you will remember but that cannot be used to identify you by others. You may also consider creating an Email Address that you will use only for RNC housing purposes.

After entering a username and email address click the 'Create new account' button.

You will be sent an email at the address you provided with a one-time password for the site and a link to access the site for the first time. Click the link or visit nornc.org/stay and use the information provided in the email to log in. You may now change your password.

After logging in, use the links on the left hand side of the site to navigate the site. The following is an overview of the options listed:

  1. View Housing Offers - See all of the housing that is currently listed as available
  2. View Requests for Housing - See all of the listings of people currently searching for housing
• Create a Listing
  1. Offer housing - Post a new housing listing
  2. Request housing - Post a new request for housing
• Manage My Listings
  1. My offers/requests - See all of the offers and requests that you have created
  2. Pending offers/requests - See pending responses to offers/requests that you have posted
  3. Accepted offers/requests - Accept or reject and offer to house you or have someone stay with you
• My Account
  1. My Account Settings - Change your email address or password
  2. Logout - Log out of the housing board

Housing listings (requests and offers) can be filtered to find exactly what you are looking for. Just click the Narrow your search link and hit submit to be able to search by the different criteria listed. The options you can use to narrow your search are:

• Type - Select Offers, Requests, or All Listings
• Number of People - Use this search field to set a maximum or minimum number of spaces being searched for
• Location - Select a particular area of the Twin Cities or All Areas
• Features - Select a particular feature you are looking for

Furthermore, all listings (as well as the results of any search) can be sorted by:

• Title - The title that was given by the Author of the listing
• Posted - When the offer/request was submitted to the site
• Available Starting - The date the offer/request begins
• Available Until - The date the offer/request ends

To sort the listings just click the column heading to sort your results in increasing order. Click a second time on the heading to sort in decreasing order. Choose the order that suits you best!

One thing unique to this site is that once postings are filled and people are connected the posting is automatically deleted. This helps keep things looking clean to those searching for a place to stay and means that you don't have to wade through 500 listings to get what you are looking for. If you can't find what you are looking for have patience and check back regularly.
