The RNC Welcoming Committee believes we should celebrate love everyday, but want to thank the folks in Olympia for the beautiful Valentine’s Day gift they sent to the world on February 14th. The selfless act of resisting attempts by cops to remove a member of your community is an act that transcends class and racial boundaries. Be it Olympia or South Central, Harlem or Hollywood, we support any attempts to reclaim space and defend communities from attacks by occupying armies that call themselves police.

In Ancient Rome, February 15th was Lupercalia, which many write was anciently celebrated by shepherds. At this time many of the noble youths ran up and down through the city, naked, for sport and laughter striking those they met with shaggy thongs.

Love and Rage march hand in hand. So run through the streets and strike down those that attempt to stifle your desires.
